Tigers Down Norfolk State In Extra Innings
NORFOLK, Va.- Jonathan Ross and Dexter Kelley each drove in runs in the 10th inning to lead Savannah State to a 7-5 come from behind win over Norfolk State at Miller Field.

NSU led 5-4 after eight innings but Savannah State's Kevin Herlihy scored on a wild pitch in the ninth to send the contest to extra innings.

In the 10th inning, Darien Campbell led off with a single and came home on a triple by Ross. Kelley then laid down a sacrifice bunt down the first base line that allowed Ross to score.

The Spartans dented the scoreboard in the fourth inning to take a 1-0 lead but SSU answered with runs in the next five of six innings.

Blake Lee hit a RBI single and Ross drove in a run when he hit into a double play in the sixth to give the Tigers a 2-1 edge.

In the seventh, Herlihy reached on an error by the right-fielder and ended up scoring thanks to an error by the catcher. Campbell led off the eigth with a single and advanced to third on a pass ball. Campbell scored on a Ross ground-out to third to make the score 4-1.

In the bottom of the eighth, NSU scored four runs on four hits to go ahead 5-4.

Campbell led SSU (23-20) with three hits and Ross drove in three runs. Starter Michael Allegretti struck out seven batters in 7.2 innings but Herlihy got the win with two scoreless innings.
