SAVANNAH, Ga.- The Savannah State baseball team could clinch a share of the Southern Division of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference with a victory over North Carolina A&T on May 10. The contest will be played at War Memorial Stadium with a 6pm start time.
The game is a makeup game that was rained out between SSU and the Aggies on March 24.
The Tigers (28-21) have won all five meetings with A&T this season. The Tigers swept a double-header from A&T on March 23 in Greensboro by scores of 12-5 and 4-1 defeated the Aggies in Savannah with a 2-0 and 4-3 double-header win on April 27 and a 10-7 victory on April 28.
A lost to the Aggies will give Savannah State a number two seed entering the MEAC tournament behind Bethune-Cookman.
Currently, SSU owns a 16-7 conference record while Cookman is 17-7. Savannah State and Bethune have played each other six times this season and both teams are 3-3 in head to head competition.
The game against Norfolk St. scheduled for Sunday, May 12 has been canceled.
