NORFOLK, Va. – Savannah State junior Andrea Pavlovic was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Athlete of the Week for women's tennis, the conference announced on Wednesday in Norfolk, Virginia.

The Belgrade, Serbia native captured wins in both her singles and doubles matches this past week against Albany State. Pavlovic downed Keyanna Russell in the second court with straight sets, 6-0 and 6-0.

In doubles play, Pavlovic and teammate Esmira Gheisary beat the Albany State team of Jasmine Williams and Jasmine Livingston 8-2, playing in the second position.

Savannah State won the match 7-0. The Lady Tigers are 2-2 to start the 2013 season. They return to the courts on March 3 against North Carolina A&T in a MEAC match up in Florence, South Carolina.
