SAVANNAH, Ga.- Savannah State football players
Simon Heyward and
Kris Drummond both received honorable mention honors from College Football Performance Awards for the play during the Tigers 45-33 loss to North Carolina Central on September 22.
Heyward, a junior wide receiver from Savannah, GA caught nine passes for a career-high 220 yards and one touchdown. Heyward (5-11, 185) also had one punt return and one kickoff return.
Drummond, a sophomore tight end from Washington, DC caught three passes for 85 yards and one touchdown.
Heyward's touchdown, which happened from the first play from scrimmage, covered 80 yards while Drummond (6-5, 215) caught a 37 yard scoring pass.
