SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University Tennis Team participated in the “Bring It Home: Tennis Day” at the Forsyth Farmers Market Saturday, February 18. The event was sponsored by Healthy Savannah and the City of Savannah.
Participants included children as young as two years old to senior citizens. For 30 minutes the participants experienced actual team warm-ups and drills. They were also treated to pointers from the team and head coach
Don Andrews. The team worked with various members of the community for a three hour session.
“The team felt rewarded for the time that they spent in community service and got as much as they gave,” Andrews said.
The Forsyth Farmers Market was founded in 2009 in order to make fresh and healthy food available to the community of Savannah. A variety of surrounding farms bring their product to the market each Saturday.
