SAVANNAH, Ga.- Senior forward
Rashad Hassan joined the 1,000 point club in Savannah State's 54-47 win over North Florida in Tiger Arena on November 14.
The Riverdale, Georgia native entered the season with 957 points.
Hassan scored 17 points in the Tigers season-opening win over Trinity Baptist on Nov. 9 and added 16 in a loss to Middle Tennessee on Nov. 13.
Needing just 10 points to get 1,000, Hassan scored 11 points in the come from behind win over the Ospreys.
Hassan went scoreless in the first half of the game as all his points came in the second period.
His layup with 9:09 left gave him 1,000 career points as well as the Tigers a 45-40 lead.
He went over the 1,000 point plateau with a free throw with 1:52 remaining to put SSU ahead 49-47.
Hassan now has 1,001 career points.
The MEAC Preseason Player of the Year entered the season with 418 career rebounds and after three games is 70 shy of reaching 500.
