SAVANNAH, Ga.- The Savannah State football team hit the practice field for the first time here Saturday morning at 8:45 a.m. as the Tigers officially began their preparations for the 2010 season.
“The first practice went good,” stated interim head coach Julius Dixon. “We tried to build on team unity and togetherness in the spring and that has carried over into fall camp,” he added.
The Tigers worked out for nearly two hours in shorts and helmets in temperatures that reached above 90 degrees by the end of the workout.
Dixon praised the effort of freshman wide receiver Brian Lackey. “He looked good,” says Dixon.
