Hedderly Earns Softball All-Independent Honors
Savannah, Ga. - Savannah State University’s Maddison Hedderly was selected as the Co- Freshman of the Year on the 2010 Division I All-Independent softball team. 

Hedderly shared the honor with Brook Short of Longwood University. 

Hedderly was also named to the team as an infielder and pitcher 

The 5-10, Dublin, Ohio native had a batting average of .330 during the 2010 season. Hedderly also led the team in hits (36), home runs (5) and slugging percentage (.532). 

Hedderly will join the All-Independent team with 12 other players. They are Britney Cato (Winston-Salem State), Ashley Kramer (Longwood), Maggie Margadonna (Longwood), Lauren Zembruski (SIU Edwardsville), Franklin (North Carolina Central), Camille Ketsdever (Longwood), Megan Murphy (SIU Edwardsville), Andrea Searls (North Carolina Central), Kayla Woodbury (Winston-Salem State), Brooke Short (Longwood), Erika Taylor (SIU Edwardsville), and Wells (Longwood). 

Desanbra Franklin of North Carolina Central was named Player of the Year and Brianna Wells of Longwood University was named Pitcher of the Year.
