Jones, Nelson and Redfield Win at GSU Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga.- Amara Jones, Alisha Nelson and Sharonda Redfield all won their events as Savannah State women placed third in the Georgia Southern Invitational.

Host Georgia Southern won the meet with 263 points followed by Albany State (103) and SSU (101).

Jones won the 200m with a time of 25.27, Nelson tied for first in the high jump with a leap of 1.58m and Redfield won the triple jump with a jump of 11.54m.

Monique Harrison was second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.03, the 4x100m relay team finished second with a run of 49.24 and Amber Hughes was second in the triple jump with a jump of 11.12m.

Kendra Carter was third in the long jump (5.09m), Ashely Johnson was third in the triple jump (10.67m) and Brittney Dean was third in the shot put (10.99m).
