SAVANNAH, Ga.- Savannah State's Lashara Smith and Crissa Jackson received an honorable mention on the 2008-09 Division I All Independent Women's Basketball team.

Smith, a senior guard from Daytona Beach, Florida led SSU in scoring (11.9 points a game), defensive rebounds (103), minutes played (31.6 per game), field goals made (123) and free throws made (101). Smith was second on the team in rebounds, offensive rebounds, assists, made 3-pointers and free
throw percentage.

Jackson, a freshman point guard from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania led Savannah State in free throw percentage (.813), made 3-pointers (22), assists (74) and steals (54). Jackson was second on the team in made free throws and minutes played.
